Value the partnerships and collaboration between Student, teacher and whanau
Every child needs a champion
Teacher's should encourage an open door policy
All learning in school and out of school should be valued
Math and Literacy are the key foundations of every classroom
Teachers need to bring the learning to the students and cater to all learning styles and needs
Students right now are all digital natives, ICT is crucial to their education and teachers need to be willing to up-skill themselves and be at the forefront of this movement
ICT is just a tool. It helps students to think, create, reflect and collaborate.
Positive reinforcement, respect, and aroha are all key parts of a safe and happy learning environment
Creativity needs to be fostered and explored
A classroom should encourage interaction, discussion and inquiry
Students to be able to communicate their understandings of the world around them rather than regurgitate knowledge handed to them
Students need to be able to think for themselves and develop inquiry skills to make decisions, research, be discerning, reflect and draw conclusions
Teachers should instil in every child a sense of value so that they in turn believe that they are capable of being a valued member of society in the future
Teachers should be excited about everything they do. Excitement is infectious.
